APPEALS

Appeals to the Compliance Panel may be filed when an event has been assessed not compliant by the Compliance Officers. The Compliance Panel acts as the final decision-making instance.

An appeal to the Compliance Panel may be filed by a Third Party Educational Event Organiser or a MedTech Europe member provided that the following requirements are respected:

  • Appeals must be filed within 10 days after the final assessment by the Compliance Officers. This applies for Pre-Clearance and Regular Submissions.
  • The formal appeal with supporting documentation must be addressed to Mr. Jean-Claude Najar, Chair of the Compliance Panel.
    • For events submitted in the platform CVS/e4ethics 2.0, send the appeal letter with one supporting document (if needed) direclty on the platform.
    • For events submitted on the old platform, send the appeal by email to dhana.ong@ethicalmedtech.eu and sara.abanto@ethicalmedtech.eu. Make sure the subject of the email contain “APPEAL & EMT number of the event”.

The Compliance Panel acts as a last decision-making instance and endeavours to respond to appeals within 5 working days of receipt. The role of the Compliance Panel is defined in the MedTech Europe Code’s Procedural Framework and Internal Procedure document.
